DKKQ 2009 - THE BEST EVER!

Disco Kid, King, & Queen is the greatest show in freestyle and are the most coveted titles in the UK.

It is the search to find the very best freestyle dancers in the world.

The excitement started in May with the first of the 12 area heats, which took place all over England, Ireland, Scotland, and Wales. The lucky qualifiers waited until December to compete in the Grand Finals held at the world famous Blackpool Tower Ballroom.

In November the last heat took place along with the final preparations and finishing touches and the stage was set for THE most exciting and prestigious event of the year.

The screen dropped, the heartbeat pounded, and what a show we were in for! The opening video was met with excitement on a scale never before experienced at a freestyle competition.

Just when the crowd thought they'd seen it all, enter Strictly Come Dancings Darren Bennett & Lilia Kopylova with a breath taking performance. 

The eminent panel of adjudicators were introduced down the red carpet, which was met with rapturous applause by the spectators, it was impossible to tell who the crowd's favourite was.

Then the real stars of the show took to the stage, the 2009 DKKQ Qualifiers, and as is customary every one of them was introduced down the stairs by name to take to the floor. Then the competition began.

Who was called down the steps into the finals?

Who was left on the stage?

Who stood on the coveted top spot of the podium?

A competition of epic proportions, thousands enter but only one dancer in each of the 11 sections can be crowned Champion.
